Competitive events provide members with opportunities to showcase college and career-readiness, skills and abilities; promote the FCCLA chapter as an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education program; and connect with peers and the community

 

National STAR Events (Students Taking Action with Recognition) recognize members for proficiency and achievement in individual and group projects, and career preparation. STAR Events offer individual and group based skill development and application through the following activities:

 

~Cooperative — teams work together to accomplish definitive goals

~Individualized — members work individually to accomplish specific goals

~Competitive — individual or team performance measured by an established set of criteria
